Federal Government Shutdown & Delays

We have received many inquiries on how the Government Shutdown will affect their immigration cases.

Many immigration services from the Department of Labor will not be available.

The Customs and Border Protection (CBP)expect delays at all ports of entry to the U.S. The agency expect increased wait times at major U.S. international airports of up to 50% or more, with peak waits of up to 4 hours at some airports. There will also be greater wait times for personal vehicles and pedestrians at the land border ports, with the doubling of peak waits up to 5 hours or more at the largest land border crossings, like in San Ysidro, California.

The San Diego office of the USCIS is operating as usual during the government shut down with no changes. If there are any changes we will try to notify any of our clients with immediate Adjustment of Status or Naturalization interviews.
